Description:
The largest living reptile, the olive green Indo-Pacific or Saltwater Crocodile is one of the most powerful animals in the world. Sometimes called the Naked-neck Crocodile, this is the only species without large scales on the back of its neck.

Behavior :
A strong swimmer, this ocean-going species has been recorded from India to Australia and from the Cocos Islands in the Indian Ocean to Fiji in the Pacific. Numbers have declined in parts of its range.

Distribution :
South East Asia to North Australia and South West Pacific.

Habitat:
In coastal rivers, lagoons and estuaries (occasionally in open oceans).

Reproduction :
Lays 20-60 eggs

Similar Species :
Mugger Crocodile (Crocodylus palustris), New Guinea Crocodile (G. novaeguineae).
