Description:
This is one of the largest arboreal snakes in Asia. It is glossy black, with yellow bars on the sides, yellow lips and throat, a black-and-yellow underside, and grey eyes with vertical pupils.

Behavior:
The head and mouth are large, enabling the snake to swallow birds’ eggs and even squirrels. It will bite and chew tenaciously, and may inject significant amounts of venom.

Distribution:
South East Asia.

Habitat:
In rainforests and monsoon forest.

Reproduction:
Lays 4-15 eggs.

Similar Species:
Banded Krait (Bungarus fasciatus).
